Leaving a legacy – Margaret Hennigar Public Library announced

When the new library opens in the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) next year, it will bear a familiar name.

It will be the Margaret Hennigar Public Library.

Mrs. Hennigar was the longtime editor of Lighthouse Media Group’s weekly newspapers, formerly the Lunenburg Progress Enterprise and the Bridgewater Bulletin. For nearly four decades, she shared her thoughts and opinions in weekly editorials, garnering international acclaim.

She was also a stalwart community advocate and champion of many causes, including literacy.

“This fit is something that I’ve had in the back of my mind for awhile,” says daughter Lynn Hennigar, Lighthouse Media Group president and publisher.

New case study: McDonalds

McDonalds brand ads featured different food products in an ongoing newspaper campaign. After seeing the ads, consumers’ perception improved dramatically on key communication elements such as “provides modern offerings” and “offers value.” But most importantly, an increase of 60 percent was garnered on “would choose McDonalds if going to a fast food restaurant today.”

New issue of The Press and The Courts out now
